Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity Renovation
Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity House
As the founding chapter of the fraternity, the Sigma Alpha Epsilon house sits on a prominent site at the intersection of University Boulevard and Devotie Drive (5th Ave). SAE desires to retain the historical exterior character of the original house, while reviving the interior quality of the public spaces to their original pristine condition, as well as revising the second floor plan to accommodate larger bedrooms with private bathrooms. A newly constructed dining terrace enhances the existing dining facility and kitchen, as well as improve accessibility and add to the architectural character of the courtyard space. The attic space in the existing east-west wing is sufficiently sized to house new mechanical equipment. The new attic space above the north-south wing facilitates the installation of sprinkler mains, electrical and mechanical systems, and improve architectural details. Construction was completed in early 2020.
